Waterspouts

WALT: Think critically when looking at information in different texts.

This week for reading, my group Saturn read a story about waterspouts. The story was called 'How Do Waterspouts Form?' We learnt about what waterspouts are and the difference between Non-Tornadic Waterspouts and Tornadic Waterspouts. As a follow-up activity, we had to complete activity 8 which was creating an infographic!

What I enjoyed was making the pictures and decorating.
What I found hard was trying to think of more information to put on my infographic.
Next time I will try to finish my work in the given time-frame.

My Mihi

This week for Maori language week we had to use this site called Gamefroot to create a game about our Mihi. We followed and used the Mihi Maker template and then added information about us. Here's my Mihi! (You might need to zoom in yourself)

What I enjoyed was using the new site Gamefroot.
What I found hard was trying to figure out what some of my Mihi was like my Waka.
Next time I will try and find more information about myself.

How Volcanoes Work

WALT : Think critically when looking at information in different texts.

In reading this week for week 7, we read a text called how volcanoes work. We then as a follow up activity had to create an infographic on what we learnt about volcanoes. Here's my Piktochat.

What I enjoyed was using something different other than using a Google Drawing etc.
What I found hard was how to make an infographic because it was my first time.
Next time I will try and finish my work on time.

In Room 6, Pluto have been learning about divisibility rules and if a number is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 36, 45.
Our Teacher gave us a "cheat sheet" to help us.

9) If The sum of the digits are divisible by 9.

8) If The last three digits should form a number divisible by 8.

7) If You double the last digit and subtract the sum from the rest of the number the total should divisible by 7.

6) If The number is divisible by 2 and 3.

5) If The last digit ends with a 5 or a 0.

4) If The last two digits are divisible by 4.

3) If The sum of the digits are divisible by 3.

Boring Street

This week the class read a story called Boring Street. We had to complete 1 of the 8 follow up activities and put it on our group's slideshow. I did activity 8 which was about listing all the Good Things (Yellow Hat Thinking) and Bad Things (Black Hat Thinking) about moving to a new neighbourhood.

What I enjoyed was making my drawing look nice and decorative.
What I found hard was coming up with ideas for the information.
Next time I will try and add more information.

Awesome Family

WALT: Write an interesting poem about our own Family.

Awesome Family

I think my family is unique and awesome.
My busy bee Mum is good at cooking food and making the house clean.
My fun Dad is good at having fun and helping with the soccer team.
My silent sister likes reading Geronimo Stilton books and is good at being quiet as a mouse.
I am good at maths and playing games in the house.

Even though we are doing different things we are still a Family and we love each other.
